Therapy Approaches
Therapy sessions are available in person or online through a Telehealth platform. Sound Mind Counseling & Neurotherapy aims to provide an integrative approach to provide a more comprehensive counseling experience for the various needs of clients. In addition to various therapeutic modalities, a neurotheology approach is incorporated for those who are interested in integrating a Christian faith.

EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. By reprocessing disturbing events from the past, clients are able to experience relief from symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a form of brain training that involves brain mapping, measuring brain waves, and training the areas of the brain for optimal function. This form of Neurotherapy can improve symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, attention, insomnia, chronic pain, uncontrollable negative behaviors, headaches, trauma and brain injury.
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach that identifies and addresses multiple parts within each person. It focuses on healing the wounded parts and restoring mental balance and harmony by changing the dynamics that create conflict among the sub-personalities and the Self.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
ACT is a form of Cognitive Behavior Therapy that helps clients learn to Accept reactions and be present, Choose a valued direction and Take action. ACT is a versatile therapeutic approach for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, and more.

Emotionally-Focused Therapy
Emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) is used to improve attachment and bonding in relationships. It is used with couples, and has also been adapted for use with families and individuals. EFT helps couples and family members form a more secure emotional bond, resulting in stronger relationships and improved communication.
